"Diggy" - 2yo Gelding

CC Hot Diggity Dog aka Diggy is a 2yo gelding from Conant Creek, WY. He was adopted from the BLM so will need a BLM approved application (happy to help out/answer questions about this process), however the right home is still very important (meaning I won’t rehome him to the first person with a BLM approved application, as I want a good fit for both him and his adopter)! He will be looking for his forever home after the Nebraska Branded Bonanza in August. He can be picked up at the Nebraska State Fair or in Blanchardville, WI, following the competition (can also deliver along the route, or slightly off the route, on the way back). He was adopted about 50 days ago, and is doing amazing! He is incredibly smart, so picks up on new things extremely quick, when asked correctly. If he is asked to do something in an unclear and inconsistent way, he can become frustrated and lose his confidence; because of this, I would recommend an advanced rider/handler, or intermediate working with a trainer. He is a very sweet boy, with tons of try and willingness, and I think he will unstoppable in the show pen, or as a trail horse, with more time. He has been hauled off property once so far, which was also his first time in an indoor arena, and he was perfect!
He has the following skills, and will continue learning more and more until the competition:
-Easy to catch/halter, and put a fly mask on/off
-Leads w/t at shoulder or behind (wherever you ask him to be)
-Stops and backs
-Picks up all four feet
-Stands tied
-Stands perfectly for vet and farrier
-Good for baths, fly spray, etc.
-Loads (can be lead in, or he also self loads), and will back or walk out
-Pivots both directions on hind and forequarters
-Lunges w/t/c (cantering outside of round pen is still a work in progress as he’s only done it twice, but he’s picking up on it super quickly)
-Stands to be saddled/bridled
-Rides w/t/c with a good stop and back (has had less than 10 rides as of 7/26/25, and will continue getting more ride time; possibly including riding at fair, on trails, etc.)
-And will continue training until the competition, so will know a ton more, as we aren’t even a third of the way done with our training period!
I think he’d make a good all around prospect due to his athleticism and amazing build (not to mention, his stunning chrome to get you noticed in the show ring!). Diggy had vaccines/coggins done on 7/25/25, hooves trimmed 07/17/25 (and will be done again on 08/12/25), and he is scheduled to get his teeth floated on 7/28/25, as well as fecal egg count done for deworming, so he will be freshly UTD on all cares as of the competition.
